Shaun recently accepted a position of Vice President at Light University. Light University is a non-accredited diploma and credentialing institution for individuals interested in biblical counseling. His primary responsibilities will be to transition Light University to a wholly online program and to build teams and operational communities within Light University to optimize performance while providing them with the training, motivation, and tools to ensure their success.
Before his most recent appointment, he was COO of Chancellor University in Cleveland, Ohio. Along with a highly motivated, energetic team of business scholars, academics, and practitioners, Shaun worked on launching an online division, restructured Chancellor’s operational teams, implementing various interactive marketing initiatives, and implementing the Jack Welch Management Institute.
Shaun was formerly Senior Associate For Online Programs and Adjunct Faculty Member at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. With over 20 years of experience in the Distance Education field, Shaun has experienced distance and online education from all angles - student, administrator, recruiter, and faculty member. His former executive leadership role for Liberty’s Distance Learning programs included responsibilities in enrollment and data management, call center, online and offline recruiting, admissions and academic advising, and adjunct faculty support. He was also responsible for developing and managing strategic partnerships, improving operational efficiencies, and implementing the programs’ mission, goals and objectives. Shaun began his career in radio broadcasting. He was a co-host and producer of a nationwide Christian talk show called “Telephone Time.” Following six successful years in radio, he accepted a position in Liberty University’s brand new “School of Lifelong Learning” (now Distance Learning.) He was Director of Enrollment Management for this newly launched, VHS formatted, distance education program. With this program still in its infancy, Shaun pioneered numerous student contact strategies which laid the foundation for his personal “student centric” philosophy. Following eight years at Liberty, Shaun became a partner and Executive Vice President at InService America, Inc., a nationally recognized call center and the largest of its kind serving non-profits and faith based organizations. At InService America, he was responsible for sales, business development, and strategic planning. While there, he learned cutting edge call center strategies, core versus non-core outsourcing, and utilization reporting and benchmarking. In May of 2006, the opportunity arose for Shaun to return to his alma mater and help to grow its Distance Learning Program to new heights. With a current enrollment of over 28,000 online students and growth eclipsing fifty percent annually, Liberty University’s Distance Learning Program has fast become one of the most recognized online education programs in the country.
