These are tough times. Most Americans have been negatively affected by the dramatic downturn in the economy. I know the Redgates have been somewhat on the receiving end. My oldest son, Shaun Jr., who had worked for six years at Bank of America in Private Banking, was let go several weeks ago. He and his wife, Brett, are expecting their first child in late June. This certainly weighs on their minds as it does for my wife and I and you wonder who is to blame. I don’t understand the financial decisions made by Bank of America over the last eighteen months, from the Lehman Brothers purchase to the acquistion of Countrywide, but that is a discussion for another day.
The Economic Stimulus Bill proposed by President Obama provides significant increases in student financial aid. I said in an interview last week with the Midtown Brew in Cleveland that education will be a vehicle for economic recovery. I believe in that. In fact, some of my sources tell me there might be additional student aid increases in the pipeline which will help speed the recovery.

I remember it clearly. It was fall 1985. I was living in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. I was managing and co-hosting a nationwide Christian radio talk show. I was married and had two children at that time. My educational experience was limited to a three year bible college program.
I knew deep down that I needed to find an accredited and reputable school that would accept the majority of my credits. But I was really stuck.
